La Liga Sides Real Madrid And Barcelona Once Again Dominant In TV Viewership

The Spanish Football League (LFP) has confirmed the TV dominance of Real Madrid and Barcelona in its review of '11-12 viewership, according to Ángel Liceras of MARCA. Real Madrid (18.1%) and Barcelona (17%) lead in standout form the rankings of the teams that were watched the most on TV. Atlético drew the third-most viewers, with 8.9%, while Valencia accounted for 7.3% of the league's TV viewers. Of the 20 teams in La Liga, the top four accounted for 51.3% of the league's entire TV audience, but earned a total of €364M ($487M) in broadcast rights, which made up 60.25% of the the league's broadcast earnings (MARCA, 6/18).
