Premiership rugby side Northampton Saints Chair LEON BARWELL will step down "with immediate effect." Barwell has "taken the decision on medical advice" (BBC, 6/6). ... EPL Tottenham will appoint former England Assistant Manager FRANCO BALDINI as technical director. The Italian left his post at Roma Wednesday and "will take charge of Spurs' scouting and transfer policy" (BBC, 6/6).

COACHES: Greek basketball coach FOTIS KATSIKARIS will not coach Spanish Basketball League (ACB) club Bilbao Basket next season (EL PAIS, 6/6). ... Spanish Basketball League (ACB) side Unicaja Malaga has announced the hire of JOAN PLAZA as the club's new coach. Plaza replaces JASMIN REPESA, who was released in May (EL PAIS, 6/6). ... Former European Footballer of the Year HRISTO STOICHKOV "is poised to be named coach of his former club," Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia. The "surprise announcement" came only a few days after Stoichkov said that "he would continue his work as coach of Litex Lovech" (REUTERS, 6/6). ... Spanish Second Division side Mallorca Manager GREGORIO MANZANO "won’t be managing" the club next season (INSIDE SPANISH FOOTBALL, 6/6). ... La Liga side Granada has agreed to an "agreement in principle" that will have coach LUCAS ALCARAZ remain with the team for next season (EFE, 6/6).
