DFL CEO Christian Seifert Says DFB Should Submit Bid To Host Euro 2024

German Football League (DFL) CEO Christian Seifert "calls on the German Football Federation (DFB) to submit a bid to host Euro 2024 in Germany," according to SPIEGEL ONLINE. Seifert said, "The DFB should bid on Euro 2024. In 2024, it has been 18 years since the 2006 World Cup. By then, we will be in a phase in which even modern infrastructure could need an overhaul and new investments are needed. Euro 2024 could be the occasion for it." Seifert also said that the DFB has already discussed Euro 2024. Seifert: "Surrounding the discussions about a bid to host Euro 2020 games, the DFB also brought up 2024. England hosted Euro 1996, France will host Euro 2016 and Russia will host the 2018 World Cup. I think there are several reasons to support a German bid and to say: 'We want Euro 2024'" (SPIEGEL ONLINE, 6/5).
