Franchise Notes: NRL Club South Sydney Rabbitohs Reach 25,000 Members

National Rugby League CEO Dave Smith said that South Sydney’s record-breaking membership culture was laying the platform for a new era of crowd growth in Rugby League. In congratulating the Rabbitohs for becoming the first Sydney club to achieve 25,000 members, Smith highlighted the importance of membership in achieving packed stadiums week in, week out in the years ahead (NRL). ... South African Premier Soccer League side Ajax Cape Town said that any possible pull out of its Dutch partners "will prove no easy affair as the two parties have a long-term contract" (SOWETAN LIVE, 5/2).
