Indian Broadcaster Ten Sports Acquires Tour De France Rights Until '16

Indian broadcaster Ten Sports "has bagged the broadcast rights" for the Tour de France until '16 for the Indian sub-continent, according to Meenakshi Verma Ambwani of THE HINDU BUSINESS LINE. The sports broadcaster "has acquired the rights for the popular bicycle race for all forms" of free-to-air and pay TV, DTH and IPTV transmission, pay-per-view and video-on-demand. It "will be an exclusive rights holder in the Indian sub-continent." The 2013 Tour de France "will be the 100th edition of Tour de France." It is scheduled to start on June 29 at Corsica in the city of Porto-Vecchio (THE HINDU BUSINESS LINE, 4/25).
