Serie A Side Udinese Calcio Builds New Stadium, To Be Ready For '14-15 Season

Italian Serie A club Udinese Calcio announced that it "will build a new stadium," according to the SID. For its new stadium, which is expected have a capacity of 25,000, the club will invest €25M ($33M). Club President Giampaolo Pozzo said that construction will begin on May 13 and is expected to be completed by Sept. '14. Udinese Calcio hopes that "it can move in its new stadium at the start of the '14-15 season." Italian football "has been fighting for years with the problem of old stadiums that are largely owned by the cities" (SID, 4/19).
