South African sprinter OSCAR PISTORIUS "would be welcomed back to certain athletics meetings when he decides to return to competition," his agent PEET VAN ZYL claimed. Pistorius is allowed to travel abroad for competitions "after a judge changed his bail restrictions earlier this week as he awaits trial for killing his girlfriend." Although van Zyl has said that "any return will be the sole decision of Pistorius," he does not believe event organizers will be put off with the pending court case (London TELEGRAPH, 4/1). ... Ligue 1 Paris St. Germain President NASSER AL-KHELAIFI has confirmed he wants DAVID BECKHAM "to extend his stay at the club." Al-Khelaifi: "He is very happy in Paris. Frankly, we want to keep him with us next season." Beckham has started once and made four substitute appearances since signing in January, "while PSG are top of Ligue 1 and through to the Champions League quarter-finals against Barcelona" (BBC, 4/1). ...South Korean PGA Tour veteran CHOI KYUNG-JU “will enter the Asia Pacific Golf Hall of Fame.” IMG Korea said that Choi, 42, “will enter the hall in a special induction ceremony in Jakarta, Indonesia in November, during the 2013 Asia Pacific Golf Summit” (YONHAP, 1/4). … Cycling champion SARAH LEE WAI-SZE “was appointed as Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) Ambassador Wednesday, and became the second athlete named as this title” following the same appointment of WONG KAM-PO in ’11 (XINHUA, 1/4).
