Premier League club Reading has parted company with Manager BRIAN MCDERMOTT. The search for a successor will "start immediately." The 51-year-old took over as caretaker manager at the Madejski Stadium in '09 before being named full-time manager the following year (GUARDIAN, 3/11). ... Bundesliga club Greuther Fürth has appointed FRANK KRAMER as its head coach. Kramer, who previously was in charge of the U23 team of TSG Hoffenheim, "will take over the team from interim coach" LUDWIG PREIS who will become his assistant coach (SÜDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG, 3/11). ... IGAL CARMI was elected as Israel's new Olympic Committee president. ZVI VARSHAVIAK announced that he will step down in January after 16 years "at the helm." Carmi was voted in as his successor after Hapoel candidate ZE'EV BIELSKI "pulled out of the race" (JERUSALEM POST, 3/11).
