ESPN STAR Sports To Launch New Channel With Focus On India

ESPN STAR Sports is "set to launch a new channel, especially for the Indian sub-continent keeping in mind the growing need of the Indian sports fans," according to the PTI. The new channel -- STAR Sports 2 -- will be officially launched on Monday and "will showcase live and non-live events across sporting categories -- cricket, soccer, tennis, motor racing and golf." In the first month of its launch, the channel will cover tournaments like Serie A and La Liga football, Bangladesh Premier League cricket, NASCAR racing and prime tennis from the men's ATP Tour amongst others (PTI, 3/7).
