Rodman's Visit With North Korean Leader Piques Interest Of Sponsors, Agent Says

Dennis Rodman has received numerous endorsement deal offers, including many from non-U.S. companies, since the news broke about his meeting with North Korea leader Kim Jong-un, Rodman’s agent, Darren Prince, told SportsBusiness Journal Thursday. “If I wanted to sign a dozen deals by Monday I could do it,” said Prince, CEO and President of Livingston, NJ-based Prince Marketing Group. “There are some billion-dollar companies overseas that are talking to us.” Prince did not name the companies he said were interested in endorsing Rodman, but said the include a large U.S. law firm as well as a tech company and a cellular provider, which are both based in Europe.

SOME TV TIME: Rodman is planning to do one major national TV interview in the U.S. about his meeting with Kim next week to tell his side of the story about why and how he became the first American to meet with with the North Korean leader, Prince added. Rodman had not selected which TV show he would do as of early Thursday. Rodman went to North Korea to film a documentary about basketball and a kids basketball camp in North Korea that is scheduled to air on HBO in April. Prince said Rodman is “not political” and was surprised when Kim wanted to meet with him. Prince: “He called me and said, ‘You are not going to believe this. I had Kim talk to me.’ This had nothing to do with Dennis restarting his brand or anything like that.”
