DFB-Pokal Broadcasts Boost TV Ratings For German TV Channels ZDF, Sky

German public broadcaster ZDF "recorded high ratings" for its broadcast of Tuesday's DFB-Pokal (German Cup) matchup between Kickers Offenbach and VfL Wolfsburg, according to Manuel Weis of QUOTEN METER. A total of 4.34 million viewers tuned in to the game, which started at 8:30pm local time. The number translated into a 13.7% market share. In the target demographic 14-49, Wolfsburg 2-1 victory received a 10.7% share. In addition, German pay-TV channel Sky exclusively showed the second DFB-Pokal quarterfinal game on Tuesday between Mainz and Freiburg. The exciting game, which Freiburg won 3-2 in extra time, attracted 210,000 viewers. In the target demographic, the game was watched by 70,000 viewers. Sky recorded a 0.7% market share in both categories for its coverage of the game (QUOTEN METER, 2/27).

SPAIN:
Pay-TV channel Canal+ 1's broadcast of the return leg of the Copa del Rey between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid was watched by 1.379 million subscribers. The number resulted in a 7.3% share. Real Madrid won the match 3-1 (VERTELE, 2/27).
