Madrid Sues Catalan TV Channel For $8M After Controversial Video Portrays Players As Hyenas

Real Madrid is suing Catalan TV channel TV3 for €6M ($7.9M) after it aired a "controversial video" that compared Real Madrid players to hyenas preparing to hunt when they face FC Barcelona player Lionel Messi, according to MUNDO DEPORTIVO. After the video aired on TV3's "Esport Club" program, the director and presenter of the program Xavier Valls apologized. Valls said, "The intention was to show that Messi is the object of a hunting game every time he plays Madrid. We understand there are people upset with the video. We were not careful enough. For this reason, we apologize if anybody felt offended or upset. It was not the intention of the video" (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 2/22).
