Postponed Pakistan T20 Cricket League In 'Chaos' Following MD's Resignation

Pakistan's proposed Twenty20 Super League "has been plunged into further chaos" after the league's Managing Dir Salman Sarwar Butt resigned Wednesday night, according to THE NATIONAL. Butt "quit the troubled competition," which had been due to start next month. His departure "casts further doubt on the league's return, with the Pakistan Cricket Board having given no indication" when the competition will go ahead. Former Pakistan captain and coach Javid Miandad "has been appointed" as acting managing director. The PSL is modeled "on the hugely successful" Indian Premier League and would see five teams with 23 matches being played over the span of two weeks. The PCB claims that the league "would be worth" more than $100M over five years (THE NATIONAL, 2/14).
