Event Notes: German Hockey's Eisbären Berlin Vies To Host European Trophy Final

German Hockey League (DEL) Eisbären Berlin Manager Peter Lee said that "the club wants to submit an application to host the final round of the '13 European Trophy at Berlin's O2 World." The European Trophy is an annual Europe-wide hockey tournament, which runs from August-December (DPA, 2/14). ... Tel Aviv, Israel "expects 35,000 runners to jam the streets of the city on March 15, when the fifth annual Tel Aviv marathon is held, making it the largest such event in the history of Israel" (JERUSALEM POST, 2/12). ... The Budweiser 6v6 Cup football tournament was launched on Thursday. Spread across the Indian cities of Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi, "the regional winners will be flown to the Indian capital" to compete for the national title. The champion will "represent India in the global finals at Old Trafford" (PTI, 2/14).
