Global Summit Focusing On Special Olympic Athletes Kicks Off In PyeongChang

Leaders from around the world will gather in PyeongChang, South Korea on Wednesday for the Global Development Summit "to tackle challenges faced by those" with intellectual disabilities, according to Moon Gwang-lip of the KOREA JOONGANG DAILY. Marking the "first time such an event will be held alongside the Special Olympics," it will "bring together roughly 300 leaders in politics, sports, business and civic community." British PM Tony Blair's wife Cherie Blair, who is the founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, "will moderate one of the discussions." Panelists for her session will include former NBAer Yao Ming and Special Adviser to the UN Secretary General on Sport for Development and Peace Wilfried Lemke (KOREA JOONGANG DAILY, 1/30).
