Lindsey Vonn Considers Legal Action Against FIS To Start In Men's Race

U.S. skier LINDSEY VONN "will not accept the Int'l Ski Federation's (FIS) decision, which rejected her request to race against men, and considers legal action," according to BLICK. Vonn said, "I've been very dissatisfied by the decision, and I won't quit. I will take a look at all my options. Do I have to go to court or file some kind of petition? At the moment, I don't really know what to do." The four-time overall world cup champion wanted to compete in the men's downhill race in Lake Louise, Canada at the end of November. FIS rejected her request citing rules that state "nobody is allowed to compete in a race of the opposite sex." Vonn said, "I'm currently seeking advice from lawyers and investing a lot of time and effort" (BLICK, 11/10).
