Brazil Sports Minister Wants To Make More Confederations Cup Tickets Available To Fans

Brazilian Sports Minister Aldo Rebelo "will work with FIFA" to try and get more Confederations Cup tickets available for common fans, according to Rodrigo Mattos of UOL.com.br. As things currently stand, 53.17% of tickets for the event are available to the general public. The rest is reserved for "sports organizations, sponsors, companies, hospitality packages, and others." Of the 897,825 tickets, 477,000 will be commercialized via Internet for the general public. Rebelo said, " I do not believe it is a corresponding number. It's disproportional. But, at the last minute, these sponsors or other entities will be able to return part of their tickets and these will be sold similarly to what happened at the Olympics in London." The commercialization of tickets for common fans will start with a pre-sale on Nov. 23 to Visa card holders. Everyone will be able to buy tickets via Internet on Dec. 3 (UOL.com.br, 11/11).
