Board Of Control For Cricket In India Confirms Pakistan Visit Beginning In December

The Board of Control for Cricket in India "has confirmed that Pakistan will come to play a series in December and January, with the first Twenty20 int'l taking place in Bangalore" on Dec. 25, according to Will Davies of the WALL STREET JOURNAL. BCCI Secretary Sanjay Jagdale said in a statement that the series, sponsored by Airtel, "will feature two T20s and three One-Day Int'ls." The Pakistan cricket team is due to arrive in India on Dec. 22 and leave on Jan. 7 (WSJ, 11/1).

ON MY WAY: REUTERS' Azad Majumder reported Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan said that Bangladesh has "provisionally committed to a tour of Pakistan at the end of the year depending on security arrangements and the results of discussions with the government." Hasan said, "It all depends on security and many other issues including the cost benefit. We have to see how the Bangladesh cricket team will be benefited by touring Pakistan." Bangladesh was scheduled to tour Pakistan in April for a short series, but it was canceled after a high court division bench ordered to suspend the visit "following a petition filed by a lawyer and a private university teacher" (REUTERS, 11/1).
