Event Notes: Arsenal Will Pay A Summer Visit To Indonesia

Arsenal will play a match in Jakarta, Indonesia during the summer of '13. The visit comes after two preseason tours in the region over the past two years. It will, however, be the first time the club has visited Indonesia since '83. The match will be organized and promoted in Indonesia in conjunction with Arsenal's partners: private broadcaster RCTI and Hong Kong-based football management company Pro Events (Arsenal). ... The 2012 Hong Kong Open Badminton Championship will be held at the Hong Kong Coliseum Nov. 20-25. As one leg of the Badminton World Federation World Superseries, prize money has been increased to $350,000, which will be "the highest prize for the event in history" (XINHUA, 10/30). ... Vietnam will host its first paragliding competition Nov. 16-18. The event will be held about 60km outside of Hanoi and is expected to "draw 30 pilots" from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam (XINHUA, 11/1).
