Media Notes: Bundesliga Launches Polish-Language Website

The Bundesliga launched a polish-language website with an independent newsroom that caters to the interests of Polish Bundesliga fans. The website www.bundesliga.com/pl was created by German Football League (DFL) subsidiary DFL Digital Sports (DFL). ... German pay-TV channel "auto motor und sport channel" aired the pilot episode of a new in-house production show called "Race -- Entscheidung in der grünen Hölle" (Race -- Decision at The Green Hell) on Monday. The show takes a look behind the scenes of the endurance motorsports world. The title refers to legendary German racetrack "Nordscheife" (DWDL.de, 10/22). ... German public broadcaster ARD "attracted 1.11 million viewers to its coverage of the final German Touring Car Championship (DTM) race in '12. The audience number "translates into a 9.4% market share" (DWDL.de, 10/22). ... Scottish Third Division club Queen's Park FC will be featured live on TV "for the first time in 61 years" when it faces Rangers FC at Hampden in December. According to Club Author Forrest Robertson, the club "will have far more viewers" for its Third Division match against the Ibrox side than it did in '51 when "an estimated 200,000" watched. That game in '51 "was the first live football match broadcast on the BBC" (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 10/23).
