England & Wales Cricket Board Head of England Development Programme SIMON TIMSON has been appointed to mastermind the elite performance system for Britain's top athletes in the run-up to the Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016 Games. Timson succeeds PETER KEEN as U.K. Sport's performance director in January (PA, 10/17). ... French Handball Federation (FFBH) President JOEL DELPLANQUE was re-elected for another term. Delplanque has held the post since '08 and will now be running the federation until '17 (L'EQUIPE, 10/13). ... The Bangladesh Cricket Board appointed ruling party lawmaker NAZMUL HASAN as its president. Nazmul replaces AHM MUSTAFA KAMAL, who was recently appointed Int'l Cricket Council vice president for '12-14, a position that required him "to relinquish his BCB post" (REUTERS, 10/17). ... Korea Football Association Chair CHO CHUNG-YUN said that "he will step down from his post when his current term ends in January." The 66-year-old took on the position in Jan. '09 (YONHAP NEWS, 10/17).
