English Football Clubs Angry Over Faulty Websites

There are "big issues with the Football League’s faulty umbrella website operation" that is used by 86 clubs, including eight in the Premier League, according to Charles Sale of the London DAILY MAIL. Football League Interactive, which manages and develops Internet and mobile rights for their clients headed by EPL teams Stoke, Wigan, West Bromwich and QPR, "launched a new platform in July with a fresh technical partner SapientNitro," a U.S. digital media company. However, there has been "a wholesale backlash from clubs up and down the country at the poor service, technical problems and the complicated navigation system of the newly introduced sites that have 7 million users." A Football League spokesperson said: "There have been technical issues with other digital projects on this scale. We are resolving them, and the sites are improving. It was a huge exercise to launch more than 80 websites in a matter of weeks" (DAILY MAIL, 9/24).
