FIFA Plans For Brazil World Cup To Have Half-Price Tickets For Students, Seniors

For the second time in the history of the FIFA World Cup, the event will have a "system with half price tickets," according to Rodrigo Mattos of UOL.com.br. Between Oct. 16-19, FIFA will divulge the policy regarding tickets for the 2014 World Cup and 2013 Confederations Cup, which will include half price tickets. The only other World Cup that sold such tickets was also held in Brazil in '50. The half-price tickets will be available for the elderly and some students "depending on the state laws." In mid-October, FIFA will announce four ticket categories, with one "destined for Brazilians similarly to what was done in South Africa." The prices have not yet been defined (UOL.com.br, 9/25).
