SC Freiburg Releases Its Financial Numbers, Record Revenue Of More Than $65M
Bundesliga club SC Freiburg generated "a record revenue of more than" €50M ($65.3M) after revealing its financial numbers for the '11-12 fiscal year this week, according to Frank Zimmermann of the BADISCHE ZEITUNG. The club's "extraordinary high transfer revenue" of €14M ($18.3M) from the sale of its players Papiss Demba Cissé and Ömer Toprak was a reason for the record revenue. During the previous year, the team's transfer revenue was only €1M. Overall, Freiburg "generated a net profit" of €5M ($6.5M). Only the club's "stadium utilization decreased slightly" from 95% to 93.5% (BADISCHE ZEITUNG, 9/17).
