Sam Rush Leaves Wasserman Media Group To Become Derby County CEO

Championship club Derby County has "appointed SAM RUSH as the club's new president and CEO," according to the PA. With TOM GLICK's departure to Premier League champions Manchester City, Rush will take up the role as the American's successor on Jan. 1. Rush, who played rugby union for Saracens, is currently president of the Wasserman Media Group's football division, based in London, and has 15 years of experience working in the sports business industry (PA, 9/17). Rush's role involves overseeing the management of "more than 400 of the sport's biggest stars from the U.S., U.K. and across Europe." Rush is a director and current treasurer of the British Association for Sport and Law, a director of the Association of Football Agents and was appointed by Sport England in 2005 as a non-executive director of the Amateur Boxing Association (WMGLLC.com, 9/17).
