German Bundesliga Start Increases Online Traffic Of German Sports And Football Websites

The start of the Bundesliga season has "boosted visit numbers of big German sports and football websites in August," according to David Hein of HORIZONT.net. The five biggest winners in August included four football websites. The biggest jump was made by football radio 90elf. The number of visits at 90elf's website quadrupled to about 378,000 since the Bundesliga started. The league's official website, Bundesliga.de, recorded a 116% increase to 7.1 million visits. In addition, websites Kicktipp.de (plus 106.6% to 7 million visits) and Fußballdaten.de (plus 97.4% to 860,000 visits) "were able to double their visit numbers" in comparison to July. The editorial websites Kicker Online (37 million visits), Sport1 (32.4 million visits) and 11Freunde.de (1.9 million visits) also "generated a strong visits plus" in August (HORIZONT.net, 9/10).
