Barcelona's Second Kit For The '13-14 Season Will Represent The Colors Of The Catalan Flag

The "big bomb" regarding the future kits of Barcelona for the '13-14 season has been unveiled, according to SPORT.es. The first kit will continue to be the traditional model with the vertical azulgrana lines, but the club's second uniform will represent the colors of the Catalan flag. A possibility that for many years "has raised interest and generated debate amongst fans." Barça's management team is keen "on taking a historic step" and putting the colors of the region's flag on the team's uniform. In past years, under former Barcelona President Joan Laporta, the club managed to get the colors on the neck of the shirt but they never "took such an important step as the one expected for next season." Barça follows in the steps of other Spanish clubs that have worn the colors of their territories flag on their second kit. Some of the most notable examples being Real Madrid, Valencia, Levante, Malaga and Athletic Bilbao (SPORT.es, 9/10).
