Swimming Australia Waits For Sweetenham, O'Neill To Confirm Their Commitment To Review

Former Australia and Great Britain swimming Head Coach Bill Sweetenham "has yet to commit to heading the review process for Swimming Australia after its medal tally plummeted" at the London Games, according to THE AUSTRALIAN. Swimming Australia announced Sweetenham and Australian former swimmer Susie O'Neill would review the team's performance, "but neither have confirmed that they will lead the process." It is understood that O'Neill is "reconsidering her role because of time constraints." Sweetenham Wednesday said he was waiting to see the terms of reference to ensure it would have "full transparency and the intent to move forward, and this would need to be backed up by an implementation strategy." He said he was waiting on Swimming Australia's board meeting next week "to hopefully finalise the review process" (THE AUSTRALIAN, 9/6).
