DEL Club Augsburg Panther Buys New Video Cube From Bankrupt Copenhagen AG

German Hockey League (DEL) club Augsburg Panther "has to replace its video cube inside the Curt-Frenzel arena after pigeon dirt damaged the current one," according to the AUGSBURGER ALLGEMEINE. Even a special cleaning process did not help, as the video cube is still "badly damaged." Panther Chief Partner Lothar Sigl said, "It makes no sense to invest a substantial amount in its repair." The club has to find a quick solution, as it has to have a new video cube for its home opener against the Mannheim Eagles on Sept. 23. Luckily for Augsburg, bankrupt Danish handball club Copenhagen AG "offered its video cube" for €160,000 ($201,600). A new one would cost around €300,000 ($378,000). Augsburg Mayor Kurt Gribl said, "The offer from Denmark came at the exact right moment." The four new video screens on the cube have a width of 3.9m and a height of 2.1m (AUGSBURGER ALLGEMEINE 8/31).
