Manchester United Agrees To Five-Year Deal With Toshiba Medical Systems

ManU has "signed a five-year deal" with Toshiba Medical Systems, according to Mike Keegan of the MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS. The Japanese company will supply state-of-the-art equipment to the club's Carrington training ground as part of the partnership, "which is thought to be the first of its kind." The site is currently undergoing a £13M ($20.7M) renovation in a bid to turn it "into a centre for sports science and medicine excellence." ManU Commercial Dir Richard Arnold announced the partnership but declined to comment on how much the deal was worth. He said that it would ultimately help Manager Alex Ferguson. Toshiba Medical Systems Europe CEO Chikao Kamijima disclosed further details. Kamijima: "Toshiba Medical Systems will supply Manchester United with a state of the art CT scanner capable of single rotation volumetric imaging and a state of the art MRI scanner in addition to a total of five ultrasound systems" (MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS, 9/3).
