Nine Entertainment And Fox Sports Acquire Rights To ICC Limited Over Series

One week after securing the broadcast rights to the National Rugby League for more than A$1B ($1.04B) Nine Entertainment and Fox Sports have "teamed again to grab the rights to the Int'l Cricket Council's flagship limited over series," according to Simon Canning of THE AUSTRALIAN. The agreement with ESPN Star Sports in Asia "will see the ICC World Twenty20 broadcast live on Fox Sports and Nine later this year." Also included in the deal are the Women's Cricket World Cup and ICC Champions trophy in '13 as well as the U-19 Cricket World Cup and ICC World Twenty20 in '14. The deal "culminates with the broadcast" of the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand (THE AUSTRALIAN, 8/28).
