Australia's Townsville Fire Agrees To Deal With ResCo Recruitment And Mining Labour

Australian Women's National Basketball League's Townsville Fire signed a $50,000 sponsorship deal with North Queensland company ResCo Recruitment and Mining Labour, according to Michael Thompson of the TOWNSVILLEBULLETIN.com.au. The new deal gives the Fire "a solid shot in the arm" ahead of the '12-13 season, which starts on Oct. 6 against Logan at Townsville RSL Stadium. The situation is "a far cry from last season's off-court turmoil" when the club faced extinction due to financial problems. Team captain Rachael Flanagan said that the stability "could pay major dividends on the court." Flanagan: "It obviously takes a lot pressure off the club, and us girls know we've got that support behind us to make sure we get the results on the court as well" (TOWNSVILLEBULLETIN.com.au, 8/18).
