Season Ticket Sales Down For German Handball Bundesliga

The German Handball Bundesliga "seems to have lost some of its attraction as clubs reportedly have sold fewer season tickets than last year," according to the SID. The 18 Bundesliga clubs have reportedly "sold a total of 45,601 season tickets for the '12-13 campaign, which is about 3% less than last year's amount of 47,072." In addition, the clubs' budgets also slightly decreased from €75.5M during the '11-12 season to €72.2M ($95.2M). The league leader in both season ticket sales and budget continues to be record-champion THW Kiel. Last year's triple winner sold 10,200 season tickets and has a budget of €9.5M ($11.8M). Newly promoted TV Neuhausen on the other hand has a budget of €900,000 ($1.1M) and was able to sell 450 season tickets (SID, 8/21).
