Beckham Scored More Than $16M In Sponsorship Earnings Last Year

David Beckham "took home a whopping £13.3M ($16.4M) from sponsorship deals last year," according to McGuire & Thorogood of THE SUN. Beckham's "golden haul" was up £1.7M ($2.1M) on the year before and it came on top of his £2.5M ($3.1M) salary from the MLS L.A. Galaxy. Last month, he earned more than £36,000 ($56,500) a day as the face of brands like adidas, Armany, Diet Coke and Samsung. Newly released accounts show that his company Footwork Productions, "which manages his entertainment work and image rights," took £15.2M in '11. From this, Beckham paid himself a salary of £13.3M. The English man "also earns millions through a joint firm" with his wife Victoria, which collects money from their perfume ranges as well as contracts with clothing retailer H&M. A source said, "The figures are a clear sign that Brand Beckham is as strong as ever. David may be nearing retirement from football, but his image is still as valued as ever." (THE SUN, 8/19).
