Football Notes: South Korea Football Head Apologizes To Japan

The head of South Korea's football governing body "apologized for his agency's handling of the aftermath of a football player's politically-charged celebration" at the London Games. Korea Football Association President Cho Chung-yun "apologized for a controversial letter sent by the KFA to the Japan Football Association" (KOREA HERALD, 8/17). ... An African Champions League match between two Tunisian teams, Esperance Sportive de Tunis and Etoile du Sahel, "was interrupted on Sunday after supporters invaded the pitch in Sousse." After the referee was forced to leave the pitch, police used "teargas to disperse Etoile fans unhappy about the score" (CHINA DAILY, 8/19).
