ESPN announced that Capitales del Fútbol, the first documentary series to profile some of the most well-known football capitals in the world returns in mid-August with five new episodes featuring Barcelona, Bogota, Manchester, Mexico City and São Paulo. It will air across Latin America in 18 Spanish-speaking countries and
Brazil beginning in mid-August. It will make its debut on ESPN Deportes
for the U.S. Hispanic audience at a later date this season. Presented by MasterCard and co-produced by ESPN and Academy Award-winning production company 100 Bares, the series includes appearances by stars of sports and entertainment such as Dutch soccer great Johan Cruyff; Spanish footballer Xavi Hernandez; Argentine player Sergio Agüero; British musician Noel Gallagher; Mexican rock band Molotov; Portuguese player Nani of ManU; and many more. The series is ESPN’s highest rated original series ever in Latin America with more than seven million viewers tuning in during the first season alone.
