The London Games' Opening Ceremony has set a new record by racking up 1.7 million viewing requests on the BBC iPlayer since Saturday, according to Josh Halliday of the London GUARDIAN. The Queen's surprise act with Daniel Craig as James Bond has been viewed 650,000 times on the BBC's YouTube channel (GUARDIAN, 7/30). Meanwhile, in London, Cass Jones noted the album “featuring music from the London 2012 Opening Ceremony has sold more than 10,000 copies within 24 hours of going on sale.” The compilation “is No. 1 in the iTunes store album chart in the U.K., France, Belgium and Spain, and has reached No. 5 in the U.S.” (GUARDIAN, 7/30).
