Survey Reveals That 73% Of German Sport Fans Watch Football On TV

A recent study revealed that German sport fans "are most interested in watching football and the Olympic Games on TV," according to Thomas Mersch of HANDELSBLATT. F1 racing follows at No. 3 -- far ahead of motorsports in general. A study of marketing consulting firm Sport+Markt found out that "47% of German sport fans watch F1 races." Motorsports in general is only watched by 25%, which puts it ahead of handball and tennis. Only football and the Olympic Games could generate a higher number of interest than F1, with 73% and 64%, respectively (HANDELSBLATT, 7/22).
