2014 World Cup Has Already Equaled Suite Sales From '10 In South Africa

The 2014 World Cup in Brazil has "already equaled" suite sales from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, according to Felippe Costa of GLOBO ESPORTE. The most expensive package, Aquarela Series, costs R$4.6M ($2.3M) and holds between 16 and 26 spectators depending on the stadium. The package offers access to 19 games in the host cities of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte, including the semifinals and the final. The second most expensive package at R$1.8M ($885,000) is called the 'Venue Series' and offers a private suite for 46 people for five games in the Belo Horizonte stadium. Currently, the total number of packages sold across the different categories "is close to 90,000" (GLOBO ESPORTE, 7/17).
