Aon Looking To Use ManU For Marketing In Brazil

ManU sponsor Aon, "plans on using the English team to spread it's brand in Brazil," according to Lucas Turco of MAQUINADOESPORTE.com.br. Between '12-13, the company plans on bringing "part of the coaching staff" to Brazil for different events along with installing Aon stands, like the one that exists in Old Trafford, in Brazilian stadiums. Aon Marketing Manager Felipe Barranco said, "The projects are still embryonic, but we are starting to think about everything. The Aon stands would be cool for people to experience the environment that exists in England. The expectation is that the events will take place in 2012 or 2013." Aon will also send the ManU U-17 side on a trip to the country. The multinational looked at the possibility of "investing in the recently created Corinthians polo team." But due to a clause in their contract with ManU preventing them from investing in other football clubs, the negotiations did not go far since Corinthians "is very much linked" to football. Aon's current contract with ManU was signed in '10 and runs for four years "with investments of €80M ($97.9M)." The company has 20% annual growth in Brazil (MAQUINADOESPORTE.com.br, 7/16).
