World Cup Host Cities Receive $54M From Brazilian Tourism Ministry

The Brazilian Tourism Ministry announced that it has given R$110.6M ($54M) to the 12 World Cup host cities for the "construction of touristic infrastructure," according to COPA2014.gov.br. The projects that will be financed will include, but not be limited to, Tourist Service Centers and tourist signs (COPA2014.gov.br, 7/12). Each host city will receive the following amounts:

- Belo Horizonte R$5.62M ($2.7M)
- Brasília R$3.49M ($1.7M)
- Cuiabá R$3.3M ($1.6M)
- Curitiba R$8.57M ($4.2M)
- Fortaleza R$17.4M ($8.5M)
- Manaus R$1.8M ($879,000)
- Natal R$17.6M ($8.6M)
- Porto Alegre R$11.3M ($5.5M)
- Recife R$15M ($7.3M)
- Rio de Janeiro R$17.9M ($8.7M)
- Salvador R$7.7M ($3.8M)
- São Paulo R$896,000 ($437,500)
