LOCOG Released Olympic Seating Chart, High Payers Disappointed With Seats

London 2012 Olympic fans who have received their high-priced tickets "are discovering they may have to bring their binoculars to the Games after checking their seating allocations," according to Jacquelin Magnay of the London TELEGRAPH. After using the information on their tickets to identify their general seating area, "most people have been upset and disappointed." This is the first time LOCOG has revealed the seating plans, "having sold the category of tickets without such critical information during the U.K. public ballots." LOCOG Deputy Chair Keith Mills told Telegraph Sport that sponsors' tickets were "interspersed among the public allocation because sponsors had paid for a range of tickets at varying prices." However LOCOG has "failed to highlight on any of the seating plans" in which area int'l media and broadcasters, as well as the key VIP seating areas for heads of state, politicians and Olympic officials will be located (TELEGRAPH, 6/22).
