Canadian Golfer Close To Signing With IMG, Nike

Canadian golfer Eugene Wong is "expected make his pro golf debut" at next month's Canadian Tour Players' Cup in Winnipeg, according to CANADA.com. Tournament Chair Ryan Hart confirmed that Wong has been granted a sponsor's exemption into the $150,000 event. Wong, 21, "appears to be headed" to IMG-Canada, which is now run by Danny Fritz. Wong is also "expected to sign a club endorsement deal" in the coming days with Nike. Other than his putter and hybrid, Wong had Nike clubs in his bag during his senior year at the University of Oregon (CANADA.com, 6/22).
