Scotland-based outdoor equipment firm, Highlander, an officially licensed sponsor of London 2012, has "secured new contracts" worth more than £500,000 ($783,000) in the run up to the Olympics. Highlander will supply LOCOG with 250,000 ponchos for spectators. It is also producing 5,000 Olympic backpacks for oil giant BP. The company has secured a contract with Proctor & Gamble to supply backpacks (HERALD SCOTLAND, 6/18).

CHIP ON THEIR SHOULDER: Singapore-based office IT equipment company Ebchip Asia Pacific has become a sponsor of S-League Tanjong Pagar United FC. Ebchip will receive branding on the club's jersey for the remainder of the season. The deal is worth S$25,000 ($19,600) (ASIASPONSORSHIPNEWS.com, 6/18).

TRAVELING LIGHT: Nike has unveiled the uniforms Chinese athletes competing in archery, basketball, beach volleyball, tennis, track and field, weightlifting and wrestling will wear at the London Games. The uniforms feature Nike's lightest Hyper Elite basketball uniforms for China's men's and women's basketball teams and the Nike Pro TurboSpeed uniform for track and field (FINCHANNEL.com, 6/18).
