German Hockey Working Toward A Free-To-Air TV Channel

Germany’s professional hockey league Deutsche Eishockey Liga seems to be heading back to free-to-air TV, according Manuel Weis of QUOTENMETER.de. Various media outlets report that “Austrian TV channel ServusTV is about to acquire the broadcasting rights for the upcoming season.” German TV channel Sport1 and current rights holder German pay-tv channel Sky Deutschland are the other bidders. The league is expected “to announce its decision at the end of this week or the beginning of next week” (QUOTENMETER.de, 6/11).
