Umbro Unhappy With Hodgson's Choice Of Footwear

England manager Roy Hodgson’s chosen training footwear has become a “big enough issue” for team sponsors Umbro to schedule a meeting with him in Krakow, according to Charles Sale of the London DAILY MAIL. Umbro’s concern stems from the fact that Hodgson has been wearing the Copa Mundial boots of rival adidas, “albeit with the three-stripe logo blacked out.” Umbro wants the coach to start wearing their own cleats especially since he is very visible on the pitch during practice sessions. The issue for Hodgson is that adidas supplied his old club, West Bromwich Albion, and provided him with a special orthotic boot to provide “more heel support” which Umbro would only be able to provide after the Euro 2012 finishes (DAILY MAIL, 6/13).
