The cost for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil could reach R$30B ($14.6B), according to Fabricio Marques of GLOBOESPORTE. The last balance sheets from the Ministry of Sports and the Court of Auditors of the Union estimate the current expenses for the World Cup to be around R$27B ($13.2B) which is a 15% increase from the R$23.5B ($11.4B) that was projected in '10. However, the total costs for the WC, which starts in "exactly two years," will increase to about R$30B ($14.6B) (GLOBOESPORTE, 6/12).
