Big Ten Football Parents At Multiple Schools Seek Answers

The Ohio State Football Parents association released a letter on Saturday "spelling out a list of items it would like to see from Big Ten leadership," while parents of players at Iowa, Nebraska and Penn State are "making similar demands of the conference." The OSU parents' letter, released on social media Saturday, "focused on several issues around the Big Ten’s decision-making" and Commissioner Kevin Warren’s "lack of communication." It calls for the Big Ten to "provide full transparency to the coaches, players and parents regarding the data used to make your decision" and for the "Big Ten commissioner to participate in a Zoom call with senior players and parents" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 8/16).

Iowa parents in a letter hand-delivered to Big Ten HQ on Friday "asked the Big Ten what changed within the six days when the conference announced its schedule, and on Tuesday when it became the first Power 5 conference to push its fall sports to the spring if possible." The Iowa parents "asked that the Big Ten respond no later than Wednesday" (ESPN.com, 8/14).
