Isaiah Thomas Ejected After Confronting Fans During Game

Wizards G Isaiah Thomas last night was "ejected for going into the stands" late in the fourth quarter to "confront fans" during a game against the 76ers at Wells Fargo Center. Thomas and the fans were "all escorted out" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 12/21). Thomas said that a male fan "held up both middle fingers and made a 'disrespectful’ comment." This occurred because Thomas "did not provide the crowd with a free dessert." 76ers fans "receive a Frosty from Wendy's" when an opposing player "misses two straight free throw attempts" during the second half. Thomas, on a late trip to the free throw line, split a pair of free throws, "spoiling the promotion." Thomas said, "The timeout goes and I go in the stands to confront him. I say: ‘Don’t be disrespectful. I’m a man before anything, and be a fan.’ And his response was: ‘I’m sorry. I just wanted a Frosty'" (BOSTON GLOBE, 12/22).
