World Series Matchup Set After Astros Take Down Yankees

This year's World Series matchup is officially set after Astros 2B Jose Altuve hit a walk-off two-run homer in the ninth inning at Minute Maid Park to beat the Yankees 6-4. The Astros will now face off against the Nationals beginning Tuesday at 8:00pm ET. FS1's Joe Buck was in the booth for last night's broadcast and he was "well aware of how special the moment was, along with where he was during the call." Buck said, "Altuve! Has just sent the Astros to the World Series!" He then "went silent for the next minute and a half." He let the "jubilant scene at Minute Maid Park provide the sounds" (AWFULANNOUNCING.com, 10/20).

Reactions came pouring in after Buck's call of the big moment, with FS1's Colin Cowherd tweeting, "Great play and great call by Joe Buck." WIP-FM's Ike Reese: "Don’t get why people hate Joe Buck, GREAT call on the walk-off HR." The Athletic's Grant Brisbee: "Buck is good at calling important baseball games." KSTP-AM's Phil Mackey: "Buck absolutely stuck this landing." Baseball Prospectus' Rich MacLeod: "Just an epic, phenomenal call. Suck it, Joe Buck haters."
